Peach and Green

Sat Sep 5, 2009, 10:31 PM
We bought our first condo! I was so excited. I decorated it in my head. Then I took a second look and there were peach tiles everywhere...peach...I broke down in tears. What kind of colour goes with peach and sea foam green tiles?...definitely not the vibrant Artisan Orange, Solar fusian, Navy Blue, Mauve explosion I had wanted...

okay get over it. Use it...think Art Nouveau. Don´t think bride zilla, prom night, mom´s sponged acrylic Terracotta pots, 1980´s sweatshirt with kittens on it, hospital, octogenarian, faded water colour lilies, conservative background vomit colour motif...

think renaissance-faded Isis, peacock feather, baby skin, chocolate syrup, turquoise gems, love birds ...

I´m not the lavender and dark purple of my thirteen year old self, the deep burgundy of my late teens or the navy blue and white of my early twenties...I´m peach and sea foam green now...well you won´t win peach tile...you won´t win...

No worries. I really liked the male and female parts of the figure and the way they expressed tension in their strange amalgamation. I read your critique of Stairwellhell´s New York and I saw you referenced Francis Bacon. Francis Bacon was my first thought when I saw your piece.

Well I'm a huge Bacon fan, I list him on my profile here too. Although of course I hope my amateur stuff doesn't just look like a soulless rip-off, I'm really glad when you say that. =)
